My name is Monica Ladd and I have been a storyteller for 7 years. I have worked with children for over twenty years as a teacher and then as a children's library associate. As a child I loved art, theatre and books. I have never grown up. I went to STORYCAMP fell in love with storytelling and have been sharing it with everyone every chance I can. I have been married to my husband Jerry for 18 years and we have two beautiful girls. Jessica is 14, she loves art, music and writing. Samantha is 12, she loves theatre, art, writing and horses.. In addition to working at the library and storytelling. I am a student at Florida Atlantic University in Communications. I hope to complete my program there and go on to a masters in storytelling. My youngest daughter, Samantha has been diagnosed with Aspergers and bipolar. I spend much of my time reading and studying how she and other children might thrive. I am hoping to use storytelling to assist my daughter and other children like her with a wonderful and expressive performance art that might enhance their communication skills. |
